TelepART Tiede Mobility Support application

We regret to inform you that the funding programme TelepART Science has been on hold for the year 2023, and we are thereby not considering any applications. We remain committed to supporting projects again, hopefully in the year 2024. We will inform changes on our website, when the telepART Science support application will reopen.

The Finnish Cultural Institute in Madrid’s TelepART funding programme TelepART Science helps young researchers present their work internationally. The low-threshold funding is designed to support the expenses for Finland-based researchers traveling to Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Peru, Mexico and Uruguay or researchers based in these mentioned countries traveling to Finland. TelepART funding promotes international movement of researchers and science in all fields. Grants will only be considered for events where the organizer, performer and their representatives have an active role eg. as a speaker. Applicants must be able to demonstrate high scientific value and the event must have participants from at least two countries.

General guidelines

TelepART funding is open for applications throughout the year if not mentioned otherwise and decisions are made within two weeks of a successfully submitted application. TelepART-funding can be applied for travel, accommodation and freight costs all including VAT. The minimum amount that can be applied for is 100€ and the maximum amount is 1 000€. .

Applications must be submitted in English. The funding is granted at the discretion of the Finnish Cultural Institute in Madrid. Funded projects are published on the institute’s communication, e.g. on the institute's website.

In order to secure TelepART funding, the event must take place no earlier than two calendar weeks from submitting the application. If allocated TelepART support, the applicant agrees to submit an expense report after the event, enclosing the original receipts for all costs incurred.

Additionally, the applicant agrees to respond to a short evaluation questionnaire. Both are to be returned within one month of the event. The applicant is expected to contribute to the social media and other communications and PR material of the Institute by providing information and pictures. The event organizer and the performer must mention the support of the institute and the TelepART program in their communications and include both logos in their event promotion material.

Due to the corona virus situation, TelepART funding can only be applied for projects that take into account current travel restrictions and recommendations. PLEASE NOTE that Finnish Cultural Institute in Madrid is unable to compensate travel costs in cases where the performance is cancelled. We strongly urge all applicants to take this matter into consideration in the booking process.

AWARDING CRITERIA

The application will be evaluated by the following criteria:

– Academic merit

– The significance of the funding for the applicant’s professional and academic activities

– The amount of funding applied for and the budget balance

– The impact of the project on the quality and quantity of academic exchange between Finland and the specified country in order to be eligible for the grant, both the researcher and the event organizer must have a preliminary commitment to the visit.

Communication
