TelepART Mobility Support application
TelepART Mobility Support promotes opportunities for performing artists to travel and perform internationally. It is a light micro-funding format aimed for emerging and semi-established professional artists. Run by Instituto Iberoamericano de Finlandia (the Finnish Cultural Institute in Madrid), the platform hopes to generate more cultural exchange opportunities between Finland and the Iberoamerican world. All projects must include performers or event organisers from both Finland and an Iberoamerican country (for instance, performers from Finland and an event organiser from Spain).
General guidelines
The platform is permanently open to applications, which can be submitted by individual performers, groups, representatives of performers, such as agencies, or event organisers. Applicants will be notified of the decision within two weeks of submitting the application. Funding may be granted for travel, accommodation and shipping costs. The required Covid-19 tests can be included in travel costs. Starting from 100€, the support is limited to a maximum of EUR 1 000.
The funding is granted at the discretion of Instituto Iberoamericano de Finlandia in consultation with varying performing arts professionals. Funded projects are published on the institute’s communication, e.g. on the institute's website.
Awarding criteria
The application will be evaluated by the following criteria:
- Artistic merit
- The significance of the funding for the performer’s professional and artistic activities
- The amount of funding applied for and the budget balance
- The impact of the project on the quality and quantity of cultural exchange between Finland and an Iberoamerican country/countries.
In order to be eligible for the grant, both the performer and the event organiser must have a preliminary commitment to the project.
Terms and conditions
In order to secure TelepART funding, the performance(s) must take place no earlier than two calendar weeks from submitting the application. If allocated TelepART support, the applicant agrees to submit an expense report after the event, enclosing the original receipts for all costs incurred.
Additionally, the applicant agrees to respond to a short evaluation questionnaire. Both are to be returned within one month of the performance. The applicant is expected to contribute to the social media and other communications and PR material of the Institute by providing information and pictures. The event organiser and the performer must mention the support of the institute and the TelepART program in their communications and include both logos in their event promotion material. Applications must be submitted in English.
